You've Decided to Remodel Your Bathroom...Now What?

So, your bathroom needs a makeover. You’ve looked through Pinterest and saved all of these pictures of beautiful bathrooms. Now what?

First, let’s talk money. Be prepared to spend more than you think. For the projects I design, the average master bathroom is $40,000 and secondary bathrooms are around $25,000. You can definitely do it for less money, but be prepared to forgo custom details, do a lot of the work yourself or not use high quality materials. That’s really the only ways you can save money, unless you’re able to find everything on clearance. I’ve just completed a renovation in my master bathroom and it was right around $30,000. I was able to take advantage of my designer discounts, I managed the entire project myself and all the materials were budget friendly.

Once you’ve come to terms with what you are prepared to invest, it’s time to plan. This might be the time to meet with your favorite contractor or bathroom designer.

If you plan to manage the project yourself, then you’ll need to gather the costs on your own. I suggest starting with your top four expenses, which most likely are cabinets, tile (labor and materials), counters and plumbing (labor and materials). And once you have a budget in place, then it’s time to make all the selections and then schedule all the workers. Oh, and did I mention the mess once the work starts???

Are you feeling overwhelmed? I’ll admit that I was overwhelmed along the way and I do this for a living! So, I’ve decided to share EVERYTHING that I learned from my bathroom renovation with YOU through my online course. We’re still hammering out all the details, but it’s going to be GOOD!

If you want to learn more, I invite you to join me for a LIVE Q&A in my private Facebook group. Mark your calendars for MARCH 1 @ 6:00 PM. If you are planning any kind of renovation, this is THE group for you. In addition to these free live events, you can ask question about your project and I’ll be sharing details about my new course. I hope this will become a space where we all learn from each other!

If you aren’t on Facebook, then be sure to join my DESIGN TRIBE and you’ll be the first to know when we have the course ready to launch!

Thanks for Reading!
