My love of beautiful homes started early.
Growing up, our home was always warm and welcoming, but it was also a place where nice things were appreciated and cared for. My mother had impeccable taste. I can still remember my childhood bedroom. I had Holly Hobbie curtains with the matching canopy bed. My grandmother loved decorating, too. Her upholstered headboard fabric matched her perfectly quilted bedspread and she always had a room with grasscloth wallpaper.
They're both gone now, but I have little reminders of them throughout my home. My mother's porcelain lamps are beside my bed and one of Nanny's favorite pieces of art hangs in my bathroom. I'm grateful to both of them for showing me something I still believe today: a beautiful home doesn't have to feel formal. The best homes are personal and tell the story of the people who live there.
When I’m not designing…
You'll usually find me at our recently built home in Monticello with my husband, Bryan. We love spending time with family, friends and our dogs. Now that my son has graduated from college, I treasure every chance we have to get together. Some weekends, you'll find me arranging flowers for Bentley Grove Blooms, my flower stand that's become a creative outlet and a way to share something beautiful with our neighbors.
