The Seven Year Itch?

Today marks the 7th anniversary of Jennifer Taylor Design.

I always approach this date with a mix of emotions. Starting my own design business in Tallahassee was always something I wanted to do, but January 2012 was not when I had planned. We don’t have the luxury of getting everything we plan, right? I hadn’t planned on my mom getting cancer and being told we can treat it, but there’s not a cure. I hadn’t planned on being a single mom raising a son on my own. I hadn’t planned on walking into work on a Monday morning and being handed a severance check with the words “you no longer work here”. Now, seven years later this anniversary date is proof that God does have a plan and I’m continuing to trust in Him.

I have a successful design business that I couldn’t be more thankful for and my mom is still my biggest cheerleader, even if it’s from heaven. I have THE BEST clients who continue to trust me with their homes. My 15-year-old is amazing and makes me proud (and a little crazy) every day. I’m also sharing my life with the most supportive man I know and look forward to our future.

So THANK YOU to each person who made this anniversary a reality - family, friends, clients and vendors. I can’t do a blog post without photos, so here are a few of the highlights (in order). More proof that I’ve come a long way - especially with my photo taking skills and decision to hire professionals.

Today I’m meeting with my VERY FIRST client to talk about a new kitchen design. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate. Cheers to 7 years!!

Thanks for Reading!
