Mint Julep (first look)

One of the best compliments, for an interior designer, is when a past client reaches out to work on another project together. The “Mint Julep” is a rental home located in Watercolor, Florida. My clients purchased it seven years ago and our goal then was to get it ready for the rental market after being a personal home for many years. You can read all about the changes we made in this blog post.

This time, we are doing much more. All three bathrooms are getting a “refresh” which means cabinets and plumbing locations are staying, but all the finishes are changing - new tile, counters, lighting, paint, etc. We are adding a new bathroom upstairs for the kids. The existing laundry room is getting a new sink and toilet so it can be used as a powder bath. The entire house is getting a new coat of paint, we are replacing a lot of the wall decor, changing out some key furniture pieces and giving each room some much needed personality with colorful fabrics.

Here are some videos I posted on Instagram when I was there in October doing my initial walk-through. This is what the Mint Julep looks like today.

For my client presentations, I put together slides showcasing the main elements of each room we are designing. Below are what I first presented for the laundry/powder bath, one of the guest bathrooms and the new kid’s bathroom.

I also wanted to share a few of the fabrics, wallpaper and tiles we are considering. Next week we have our second presentation to finalize everything and then the renovation will start right after Christmas. Stay tuned for more updates as this project is going to be a good one!

Thanks for Reading!
