What It’s Really Like to Work with Jennifer Taylor Design

Let’s be honest. Decorating your home can feel like a lot. You want your home to be beautiful and pulled together, but the fear of making a mistake keeps you stuck. So you wait. Weeks turn into months and that unfinished feeling is still there. One of the most common questions I hear is, “Where do I even start?” If your budget allows, completing a few rooms at once gives you the biggest impact. But if that’s not realistic, I always recommend picking just one space and fully finishing it. Doing a little here and there might feel productive in the moment, but it rarely creates the sense of completion.

I’m currently battling this with my own home. We moved in 6 months ago and not one room is totally done. So, I picked the two rooms that were the closest and as soon I get the window treatments hung - the guest bathroom and pantry will be finished! That small amount of progress reminded me why clients hire me. To make designing your home easier and more enjoyable. Whether you are furnishing one room or an entire home, I walk my clients through a process that brings a finished result they can be proud of.

Our first step is getting to know you with an initial consultation. It’s a one-hour meeting where we walk through your space, look at inspiration photos and talk about what’s working and what’s not. From there, I create a personalized design agreement for your project. JTD charges a flat fee so you know exactly how much our services cost and if your project involves furniture, we even recommend a budget. The consultation is $300, but that fee is fully refunded when you move forward with a signed agreement. This consultation is where your project starts to come into focus.

Once the agreement is signed and first payment is received, we move into the design phase. This is where we do the heavy lifting, combing through all the options and narrowing them down to the very best ones for you. I present actual samples you can touch and feel so you know exactly what you’re getting. We want you to clearly envision your new space, which is why most of our projects include a 3D video rendering. Our presentations are focused and kept to a minimum to respect your time while making sure you love every choice.

I realize costs are one of the main factors in deciding whether working with designer is within your budget or not. That’s why I share my starting design fees clearly on this website. The truth is, interior design is an investment, but it’s one that can actually save you time, money and stress. I help my clients avoid costly mistakes like ordering the wrong size furniture or wasting money on things that don’t work together.

Working with Jennifer Taylor Design is personal AND organized. My goal is to take the stress out of the process while creating a home like no other. I know there are a lot of designers out there and finding the right one can be time consuming, but it’s worth it. Whether you need full-service decorating or a new kitchen design, we’ll come up with a plan that works for you. Starting with the first meeting, I guide the process so you can enjoy watching your home come together without feeling overwhelmed. If you're ready to take the first step, I’d love to help. Let's chat about what’s possible for your home.
