Summer Trips and Projects

I love summer! I try to scale things back at Jennifer Taylor Design so I can enjoy some time to travel as well as finish a few projects around my house. As many of you know, I recently got married and we are planning to combine households in the fall (if not sooner). Since we are selling two homes, that means a lot of time will be spent getting them ready. Thankfully, I’ve been slowly remodeling my entire house over the last few years so my list isn’t very long.

I am making some changes to my guest bedroom so it feels more spacious. The queen bed is coming out and I’m replacing it with a pretty daybed I found at Ballard Designs. For the past few years, our only “guests” have been my son’s friends or cousins so having a twin bed works well for us. I need to paint, add some window treatments and pretty art on the walls. I also am going to streamline my son’s bedroom. I haven’t finalized the plans quite yet, but it will also be a pretty simple project. Mainly paint touch-ups and removing some furniture.

What kind of home projects do you have planned? I’d love to hear from you in the comments. If you are thinking about a renovation, I highly recommend you take my new online course - How to Renovate Your Bathroom Like a Pro. I share ALL THE STEPS you need to follow to manage a successful renovation project, all on your own!

In addition to getting my house ready to sell, we are planning some really fun trips this summer. Taking Wes on summer vacations has always been important to me. We’ve been to New York City, Bahamas, Boston, Nantucket, California, Seattle, Orcas Island, Disney World and many trips to the beach. Traveling alone with a child wasn’t always easy, but the memories we made were so worth it.

Our biggest trip yet is coming up first! We are traveling to England and then to France to celebrate Wes’ high school graduation. I’ll share all the details in a future blog post. I hope you summer is filled with fun memories and productive home projects.

Thanks for Reading!
Jennifer
